Boka Group’s investment professionals are based out of the Bahamas with local offices in investment countries. These individuals collaborate across geography, sharing industry knowledge and insight to source, research and complete investments.


Senior Management
Investment professionals are responsible for fund management and day-to-day management of the portfolios. Prior to making an investment decision, Investment Professionals present a comprehensive analysis, including due diligence findings and financing options, to the Board of Directors Investment Committee.

John E. J. James, MA (Oxon), FRSA, F Fin
Co-founder

John E. J. James is a Co-founder, Co-Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer of Boka Group, a global alternative asset management and investment advisory firm. Mr. James serves as chairman of Boka's investment funds.

Prior to forming the Boka Group in 2005, Mr. James worked in the United States Congress and spent a number of years in fundraising and finance. He worked with Anglo-Suisse Capital, a London based Merchant bank and was responsible for trading equity portfolios and advising on corporate finance and public offerings. He was active as an asset manager for Fox Invest Zurich, a member of the CAT Group, supervising high net worth clients. Mr. James is experienced in brokering real estate opportunities introducing significant investment into real assets and commercial transactions, and providing advice to Central Government.

Mr. James is a graduate of the University of Oxford and studied further at the University of London. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and the Financial Services Institute of Australasia.


John G. Kennedy
Co-founder


John G. Kennedy is a Co-founder and Co-Chief Executive Officer of Boka Group, a global alternative asset management and investment advisory firm.

Prior to forming the Boka Group in 2005, Mr. Kennedy was a Political Secretary to a member of the British Cabinet between 1987 and 1989 and a former member of the British Royal Household having served as Equerry and then Private Secretary. He has conducted numerous business activities in the United Kingdom and internationally, and has extensive experience in brokering and managing real asset opportunities. He was one of the first to identify the potential of the Montenegrin real estate market. In 2005, in partnership with John James, he was responsible for creating and introducing a marina development opportunity which is the largest single investment in Montenegro, valued at some €500 million. In 2009, in cooperation with Future Capital Partners, he created and developed a hotel and residential opportunity in the town of Budva with a value in excess of €200 million. He has extensive family connections throughout Montenegro.
